I do love new york city. It makes my heart pound with excitement. There is such an energy there. Such a huge pulse. Inspiration is everywhere. So much stimulation, and culture. This pic is a distorted view of the Empire State Building with green lights at Christmas.
The Chrysler Building (below) is my favorite building in NYC, not that I am a huge Deco fan. I do like Deco, but not as a theme. I just like the shiny silver, and the shapes of the arches & triangles in contrast to each other.

You see this type of architecture, and fixture (below at the NY Public Library) is just nowhere to be found on Vancouver Island. But then there are no forests of beautiful old, old, old trees in NYC. So everything has it's place and time. Variety is the spice of life. And we need Variety... yes.
These buttons were glued on a wall of a vendor at the Bryant Park Market next to the NY Public Library. I thought they looked cool, so I took their picture. They smiled for me, and their cheeks got rosy. : )
This was very nostalgic for me. The pic below is of another booth at the Bryant Park market. I actually couldn't believe it. I started my business on Vancouver Island in 1991, and soon began designing clothes with vintage linens, primarily featuring chenille bedspreads. I did that for many years and became known for it in my area. I have a large collection of chenille which I will work with again some day. For now it doesn't feel fresh enough to inspire me (but that sure doesn't stop me from collecting it if I come across a good price for it! : ). It did, however, seem fresh enough for many people in NYC at Christmas though... at least I am guessing that the designer that made this stuff had a profitable season...
Love what you do, and love those who love you!
