City of Angels.

When I was a little girl I cut out a poem or something by Louisa May Alcott. I remember that with fondness.

It is interesting to listen to our hearts cry. And I mean really listen. Interesting to study the path it wants to take. To be open to the road chosen. The point of life is to walk on that path. Honor and celebrate your path, and strive to walk on it in your lifetime.

The two cities that mean so much to me are LA, and NY. I love the small gulf islands of the Pacific Ocean, and the larger Vancouver Island. I also enjoy Vancouver, BC. My heart cries for NYC, and LA. My experience working as a Fashion Designer has taken me to these big cities, and there I found success. I feel alive in these cities, mostly NYC.

Interesting to think of the next steps in my life. It's time for change. It's time for creativity, & love. Change can be soooooooooo scary. And then, like some kind of weird disappearing act, when you get to the other side of the change, the fear is gone, and you wonder what the big deal was... So this is where the saying, "feel the fear and do it anyway" comes in? hmmm. Just something to consider in planning a life.

LiPsTiCk aNd A BirDie

Ok, this is cool. I think. Well, we will see how it goes. I definitely have things to say that I want to share. I told my son the title of my blog, and he said that's weird... I said why? ... and he said Art Chicken Action, what's that? Ha ha! Well, he knows I love roosters (since long before this last trend of the last several years!-- which btw, makes them easy to find in stores...), so he thought the title was related to roosters. But, I am a chick, and this blog is about me, my art and design, and my profundities (well, I hope you think so, too!)

The pics today feature my very first foray into tapestry weaving. This piece titled, Pit Bull with Lipstick, and a Birdie (ask me), was recently in a juried art show on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The tapestry will be encorporated into a purse (as will 7 metres of loom weaving -for 13 purses- I'll show you another day : )

I am a fashion designer, FIT grad (NYC), with a BSc. in Apparel Production Management. I am currently a mom with a home based business doing alterations/custom work. In my "spare time" I am exploring fibre arts of all kinds, and I create one-of-a-kind items for sale via klozhausfunk@gmail.com (until my nephew sets up my website!!)
